love regulation

We had an essay assignment to read Pentti Heinilä's Erittäin Salainen, but I grew tired of it before having read 200 pages. Sure it was interesting, all those stories about taking Bibles to the Soviet union while it was illegal there to have Bibles. Anyway, I didn't feel like learning that much so I just browsed the book after reaching something like page 157.

Currently reading Epäilijän kirjeet by Gregory A. Boyd and Edward K. Boyd (originally published in English under the title of Letters from a sceptic. A Son Wrestles with His Father's questions about Christianity. Borrowed the book from Elina, it's pretty good.

Spent yesterday evening with Katri and her little sister and her bf. Today we're gonna celebrate our anniversary with Katri, plus her birthday (which I forgot, but happened to come and see her on the very day, thank You Lord x). Gonna see the movie Populärmusik från Vittula and eat in Omenapuu restaurant.

I miss Hankku.

Also, decided on going to Maata näkyvissä festival to help them in making the food for all the festival people. Thus, I won't need to pay for attending the festival (but just work 8 hrs/day) and I'll get to see all the friends who are going there.

God's just amazing and I feel rather stupid for not having any strength to talk about Him with anyone except for those who already believe =P.

Also, Väinö is developing bit by bit.

Another reason to abandon Internet Explorer

Firefox

Anchordesk: Why you should switch to Firefox now

Summary: Internet Explorer has several security flaws. Microsoft has announced that future IE upgrades will only be available to Windows XP users, so users of other Windozes won't even get patches anymore. Since also Outlook uses IE to show HTML emails, is will also be vulnerable, so switching to Thunderbird as the primary e-mail application is highly recommended.

Besides, Firefox is faster, easier to use, more standards-compliant and more versatile than IE. What's not to like?

Listening to Nina Astrom's (Åström) album Real Life, bought it on Thursday.

life without form

Once upon a life I made a decision: I would report every book that I read in this journal, just for my own record. Thus: some weeks back I finished Liisi Jokiranta's kun sydän itkee, a book about Kind David's life. Actually, we had an exam on that book in the Bible school.

Talking about the Bible school, I managed to get some webmastering to do there, too. On Thursday I finally managed to update the website of the students (oppilaskunta, link in Finnish). The layout and most of the content is not by me, I just uploaded some new content and cleaned up the code a bit.

Lots of things have happened in Ryttylä in other respects, as well. I've been working as a computer tutor of sorts and photographing for the school brochure. On Tuesday, for the first time, we went to a home for handicapped people to spend some time with them: singing the gospel, reading the Bible and just getting to know each other for starters.

What is this?

A Christian student writing about life, faith, software etc. both in English and in Finnish. Some photos and poetry, too. Not thinking much about whether I'm being interesting or not. See also my work blog: Moodle Quiz UI

Please comment. Anything :).
