springs

My relationship with Hankku has been going through several small disasters this Spring. It has even been rumoured, that these small disasters have the relationship nonexistant, but of course, they are just rumours.

I've lately seen the movies Don't Come Knocking and Laitakaupungin valot.

I've also enjoyed the Spring being given birth to, and doing my little research about CMSs with direct manipulation user interfaces (if you know any of such systems, please tell me :).

CSS Tree view for an HTML unordered list

Was supposed to build a family tree and started to wonder whether a hierarchy could be presented as a tree with simple HTML and CSS. It was surprisingly easy. Check the source: just plain UL's and LI's there :). To me, this also seems like a rather ideal way of presenting a site map.

The con of this pro is that the background color needs to be separately defined for each hierarchy level. Just using borders instead of background colors solves this issue, but it doesn't look as clear. Also, rounded corners would be nice if all of the implementations weren't so hacky (for the example's sake, I used -moz-border-radius, only visible for mozilla users, obviously).

I'd appreciate any ideas on how to make it look more like an actual tree.

What is this?

A Christian student writing about life, faith, software etc. both in English and in Finnish. Some photos and poetry, too. Not thinking much about whether I'm being interesting or not. See also my work blog: Moodle Quiz UI

Please comment. Anything :).
