"Is it lonely?", sings Norah

It is lonely at times. I don't know if my loneliness is about how awkward it is to be social in the Finnish culture sometimes, or is it just the same problem any member of humankind faces once in a while or in some sense, all the time. As they say, having people around really really doesn't mean not being lonely.

Right now this is related to painting my new flat, which has been going on this week. It's been a bit hard to get friends to come there just to keep me company while I'm harassing the walls. Don't get me wrong though, I love the work itself, getting physical and playing with something really tangible at times, getting a sweat on.

Summer has meant working a lot, right now it is hotter in Tampere than my atopic skin could easily take. Happily I managed to bother going to a skin specialist on Monday, though I'm a bit skeptical about just trying new cremes and using loads of cortisones. Anyway, I seem to be too busy and lazy (etc.) to try anything more exotic, such as natural oils or ... something.

Boiling eggs. Should eat quickly, finish the ceiling paint job, get on a train, run through some errands in Kerava, and get to a house warming party, which I'm really anticipating with a smile on.

What is this?

A Christian student writing about life, faith, software etc. both in English and in Finnish. Some photos and poetry, too. Not thinking much about whether I'm being interesting or not. See also my work blog: Moodle Quiz UI

Please comment. Anything :).
